Another "Out of the mouth of a child"

Photobucket

So on Saturday we decided it was time to take a break from unpacking and the hustle and bustle of daily life and spend some time with the kids, and share again the Christmas Story. We left the house a little early so that we had time to find "Christmas City" and grab something to eat before we went.

We end up at Sonic Drive-In and as the children are looking over the menu, they see the little advertisement signs of the specials that they have right now.We made our order and everyone ate. As we were getting ready to leave Breanna says in a puzzled voice, "Daddy what are Sausage Diapers?" I of course froze in my seat and didn't say a word. Again, "Daddy what are Sausage Diapers?" I swallowed a sip of my drink....took a breath and said "Breanna what are you talking about…sausage diapers?" She points to the sign on the Sonic Menu and they now serve "Sausage Dippers." You can imagine what a relief that was...and we went on to enjoy our evening.Christmas City was a nice experience.

We got there about an hour after they opened. Usually when we have visited places like this there is a fee per person or per vehicle. I was amazed it was "Free" to visit, however you were welcome to leave a donation. We pulled in “Christmas City” and got one of the few parking spaces they had left.

We all piled in the train and they took us around the campground/park to see the lights. Afterwards we took the kids to see Santa, grabbed hot chocolate (it was COLD!) and funnel cakes. The lights were beautiful and the entire campground was done to celebrate the birth of Christ....the true meaning of Christmas.
